The name Popp stands for 90 years of reliable and affordable electrical engineering Made in Germany. As a pioneer of Z-Wave technology in Europe Popp is committed to deliver high quality and interoperable wireless components and solutions for your Smart Home.
POPP stands for 90 years of experience and innovation in electrical engineering. Founded in 1930 by Heinrich Popp in Bad Berneck Germany, the focus in the early years was on the production and distribution of electrical porcelain, fuses, terminals, luminaires and sockets.
In the 1950s, the range was expanded to include switches, lights and plugs etc. Since then, POPP has stood for reliable and affordable electrical engineering "Made in Germany".
With the introduction of the InterACT3 smart home solution in 2008, POPP was one of the first companies to offer Z-Wave based radio control in Europe. With the acquisition of POPP & Co. by the leading European Z-Wave distributor Z-Wave Europe GmbH in 2013, a new chapter in the company's history began. Through the combination of German engineering skills and the focus on the Z-Wave radio standard, POPP was subsequently able to establish itself as one of the leading Z-Wave manufacturers in Europe.
Groundbreaking products such as the first energy-autonomous Z-Wave weather station or the solar-powered outdoor siren have been developed in recent years. In 2020, the POPP & Co. programme evolved to the next level when the company introduced the first Zigbee plug-on module for the Raspberry Pi and the world's most compact Zigbee USB stick.
